We played the host for holding KVS cluster II level competitions for the cluster level Kho-Kho, and Kabbadi matches for boys and girls this year.  Our Vidyalaya emerged winner in the boys Kabbadi, and Girls Kho-Kho and kabbadi both. Our children too very actively participated in many sports events both at Cluster and Regional Levels with selection for various events in the National. REPORT

Honourable Chief Guest of the day, Dr. S. D. Chakrabarti, Education Officer, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Bangalore Region, and Madam Mrs. Chakraborti, respected Principal Sri P. Paramasivam, my colleagues, respected parents and dear children. It gives me immense pleasure to give a brief report of the sports and games activities conducted for the year 2008-2009.

All the students of the Vidyalaya were divided into four houses namely Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka and Raman in the last week of April. The inter house competitions  began on  2^nd of July, after selections of House Leaders , Deputy House Leaders, School Pupil Leader, Deputy School Pupil Leaders and Prefects. The investiture ceremony was held on 19-07-08 wherein the Principal was the Chief Guest.

The inter house matches were held in sports like Kabaddi & Kho-Kho for Boys and Girls  in which the students from classes 6^th to 12^th  participated and in games like Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton in which the students played under three age groups ie.U-14, U-17 and U-19 years.

For the Primary section, competitions were conducted for classes I & II for games like getting ready for school and picking up dumbbells. For III- V classes we conducted five-step athletics competitions as guided by Mr. Ramabhadran, Chief Sports Officer Bahrain.

We hosted and participated in the KVS cluster level Kabaddi and Kho-Kho competitions in which cluster II Vidyalayas took part. In these competitions our Vidyalaya emerged as winners in Boys Kabaddi, Girls Kabaddi and Girls Kho-Kho and in runners up position in Kho- Kho for Boys.

Further a contingent of 22 Boys and 05 Girls took part in KVS cluster level sports like Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Chess, and Athletics.

In all 19 Boys and 24 Girls were selected to participate in KVS Regional competitions in different Vidyalayas of Bangalore Region from 28-Aug to 31-Aug 2008.

The details of the participation of this Vidyalaya in the cluster, regional, national & other competitions are as under:

III) K V S NATIONAL MEET

The following students of our Vidyalaya were selected to represent KVS Bangalore region in KVS national meet to be held at different KVs of Hyderabad region from 14-10-2008 to 18-10-2008 :

1. Kumari. Prerana of class 11 for Chess.

2.  Master. Deepak Raghav of class 11 for Kabaddi.

3. Kumari.Harshitha U.Urs of Class 9A for Kabaddi.

4. Kumari.Komala Raju of class 9B for Kho-Kho.

5. Sharan Prabhakar of class 9B for Skating .

IV) PARTICIPATION IN OTHER COMPETITIONS.

Eleven Boys had participated in the Independence Day Road Race, another batch of eleven boys participated in the prestigious KPMG meet.  

Master. ARAVIND PRASAD of VA got SILVER medal in 400 Meters sprint under 11 years age group.

In the years to come, I am sure that this Vidyalaya will do far better and be a pride to the KVS…. JAI HIND
